Very cool if your into Gold Mining! Quite Cool.
"All about the Klondyke gold mines" written by J.G Pratt and J. Armory Knox. The Klondyke Gold Rush in 1896 takes over where California Gold Rush of 1849 ends. There is a great rush of Gold seekers rushing over Chilkot Pass or through Juneau into Canada an area that lacks food and other human items of comfortable. Even the 300 Indians have problems finding food. The gold seekers risk their lives crossing swollen rivers, battling rapids, and streams. Once in Dawson City gold is easy to find but man is faced with frozen open pits, digging that incorporate heat to thaw the pits, and removal of gravel before reaching gold that is mixed with soil. The main hazard is the constant threat of starvation. There is not a lack of whiskey and gambling. Most miners leave the area for rest with riches after a year or two, but not before hiring others to work their clains or to buy interests in other claims. Canadas' laws or strict regarding gold claims.
An excellent book, well written and very informative.
