From the bestselling author of The Long Way Home comes a charming novel about loss and the faith that restores broken lives.
A year after the death of his wife, Christine, Dan is barely holding on. But one thing gets him through the long, lonely nights and that is his cherished dog, Anni. When she is stolen from his front yard, Dan and his daughter, Lindsay, are devastated. Meanwhile in another part of town, Andrea Keller is recovering from the heartbreak of a messy divorce. After she rescues a defenseless dog from an abusive tenant, her life changes in ways she never could have anticipated.
Dan and Andrea cross paths again and again, only to keep missing each other and the opportunity of a lifetime. As Anni works to find her way home, can she bring together these two lost souls desperately in need of a second chance at happiness?

I don't get a lot of time to read but Hello Love caught my eye last week as I was browsing through Kindle books, and this weekend after a long stressful work week I decided I would check it out. I finished it in just a few hours and really enjoyed the story. I loved how the characters slowly began to have feelings for each other. Dan and Andrea felt that connection from the first time they met but they didn't act on it immediately. I loved that the story was clean, no profanity and no torrid sex scenes - I don't need that all spelled out in detail for me, thank you very much. It was just a sweet romance and I loved that Anni the dog tied everything together. I loved seeing the connections between the various characters... Aunt Doreen dating Cliff who was Andrea's new neighbor who sometimes watched Anni. I loved how Dan and Andrea worked out "the arrangement" to share Anni, what a great solution for the pooch who would have otherwise had to stay home alone for 8-10 hours a day. There was a little bit of "woo-woo" in a few places but not enough that it was disturbing - I generally don't go for "new age" type stories. I wonder if Ms. McQuestion is planning any more books with these characters as I would love to see if Andrea gets to have the baby she's always wanted (and whose fault was the infertility, hers or ex-husband jerk Marco). Lindsay (widower Dan's daughter) isn't too keen on that idea but I think she might warm up to the idea of having a baby sister or brother. I read the last few chapters out loud to my husband (after a synopsis of the earlier chapters) and he enjoyed the story as much as I did. I'll be looking at Ms. McQuestion's other books and hoping to find more of the same. Thank you for the delightful read!Product details

Hello Love (Audible Audio Edition) Karen McQuestion Dan John Miller Brilliance Audio Books Reviews
I really did love this book. It's true, dogs do make your life better. This is the story of a little dog Anni and the people who loved her. Dan was happily married and lost his wife. His teenage daughter and he found Anni to be a comfort. Then she was stolen right in front of their home. Andrea rescues Anni from the abusive young men who stole her. Anni helps Andrea get over her failed marriage. Many things happen before Dan and Andrea realize they each own the same dog. It's a cute story that will make you cry, laugh, and sigh in contentment. If you love dogs, you will love this story. Get it. You won't be sorry.
If I could have given this book 10 stars I would have. If you have ever experienced owning a dog, you will want to read this book. Anne is like the axil of a wheel with Dan, a recent widower, Lindsay his 17 year old daughter (who sees everything as black or white like all 17 year olds), Andrea a recently divorced lady, Marco the obnoxious bully who is Andrea's X and of course Anne. Simply put Anne was Dan and Lindsey's dog who was stolen from their front yard while patiently waiting for Dan's dead wife to come home. Andrea saved Anne from a terrible situation by the frat boys who stole her. Dan and Lindsey looked tirelessly for Anne and had finally given up hope of ever finding her. Anne was the one who gave Andrea a reason to become happy again after she rescued her from the frat boys and Marco dumped her than wanted her back and literally stalked her. Anne is a dog who is loved unconditionally by Andrea and also by Dan and Lindsey, who morn her since she was stolen. I have loved and lost a collie as a child, a lab as a young adult, 2 poodles 1 raised with my two girls and 1 who was my empty nest best friend. I now have another poodle who is spoiled rotten by my husband and myself being our retirement child/dog. I hate reviews that literally tell me so much about the book that I don't read it as I like to not know where a story is going to take me and how it ends. I will not go into any more detail about HELLO LOVE other than to say that after you finish this book you will put it away with a smile on your face and if you have a dog, you will give it a big hug and a treat.
Hello Love is an amazing very well written story and I found myself going through many emotions which were tears running down my cheeks, gasping at times, smiling , giggling , got angry with one character who I wanted to give a few karate kicks too, I cheered for characters, I cried a few times, I had indignation for a few evil cruel characters, felt a lot of courage and determination by a character, felt anticipation, hope and respect and held my breath at times. There were twists, turns and action . Karen's characters are fictional yet she writes like they are non-fictional and I am sure a lot of readers will say " gee that character or characters are people I have come across during my life". The good characters and the bad characters.
I loved Love and she is such a loving, special, smart companion. I have had dogs for many many decades since I was a small child and I can't imagine my life without one.
Kudos Karen McQuestion for being able to bring out so many of the emotions I went through while reading Hello Love , that doesn't happen often for me.>)
I have read and highly recommend all of Karen's books.
This book hit me straight thru my heart! I've had Shih Tzu dogs since 1987, & every time one passes over the rainbow bridge they take a piece of my memory & leave s piece of them in my heart. I can attest to losing of a dog after my Mom died; my 91 yr old Dad called me every other day, even offering to buy me a new one! That's the 2nd hardest thing in my 61 yrs. ( yes, losing my Dad was #1)
Dogs understand our emotions, I believe, more than most every human because of their unconditional love. When you can open yourself to that level of commitment & love anything is possible - even reading the others thoughts & feelings - which is what I feel with my dogs.
Thank you, Karen, for putting yourself out here by writing this! I'll be recommending it to every dog group I belong to on Face Book, as I know they all feel the same as I do about their "Fur Kids."
